1. Start with Your Goals

Before comparing colleges, get clear on what you want from your degree — placement-driven? research-focused? a particular city? Your answer changes everything.

2. Shortlist by Outcomes, Not Brand

Look at average packages, top recruiters, internship pipelines, and alumni networks. A lesser-known college with strong outcomes often beats a flashy brand name with weak placements.

3. Visit (or Virtually Tour) the Campus

Numbers don't tell you everything. Talk to current students, sit in on a class, walk the hostel — campus culture is real, and you'll spend three to four years in it.

4. Run the Money Math

Factor in tuition, hostel, living, and how loan repayment compares to expected starting salary. A 20-lakh degree only makes sense if the ROI is there.
